Brief History of Jawzjan University
Jawzjan University was established in 1987 (1366 Solar Hijri) in Jawzjan Province, in response to the urgent needs of society and through the efforts and dedication of educators and intellectuals. It was initially founded under the name of the Higher Institute of Teacher Training.
Subsequently, following its elevation to the level of higher education institutions, it began its academic activities at the bachelor's degree level in 1994 (1373 Solar Hijri), operating under two separate structures: the Mirza Ulugh Beg Institute of Mines and Industries and the Amir Ali Shir Nawai Institute of Pedagogy.
In February–March 2002 (Hoot 1380 Solar Hijri), based on the decision of the respected Ministry of Higher Education, the two institutes were merged into one institution and continued their activities under the name Institute of Higher Education until 2009 (1388 Solar Hijri).
Through the continued development of its academic, teaching, and research activities; the enhancement of academic staff capacities; the expansion of infrastructure; the collective efforts of the university leadership and all staff members; and the fulfillment of the standards set by the Ministry of Higher Education, the institution was officially upgraded to Jawzjan University in 2009 (1388 Solar Hijri).
Jawzjan University strives to become a high-quality academic institution that responds effectively to the needs and demands of the modern era. Its mission and objectives include providing quality higher education to academically qualified individuals, strengthening the professional capacities of lecturers, improving teaching and learning standards, developing and implementing academic programs, and expanding the university's organizational structure in line with other national and international universities.
